Normal service resumed
Last night, after a break of three weeks due to me being ill, Runelords met up. Steph guided us through the conclusion of this chapter of GURPS Alpha Centauri, in which we battled against 'orrible little wormy-like things that did 'orrible stuff to our minds, making us see that which we most feared. Escaping these creatures, mainly thanks to our soldier's timely use of an uzi, we made it back to the newly-founded base camp, celebrated and had discussions about the future of our little part of the human race. In the last scene, we witnessed a dogfight between two 'alien' spaceships - we are soooo not alone on this planet of Chiron. Our thanks to Steph for running the game for us.
Next into the hotseat is - umm - me, for the first time since Sept. 2009! I'm introducing the group to Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (aka WFRP or wuffrup).

Junior Runelords: Adventures in the Lost City
Had another cool session of Junior Runelords this afternoon, delving into The Lost City, fighting stirges (nearly achieving a TPK) and giant gheckos, dodging giant beetles and centipedes, befriending the Brotherhood of Gorm (well, that's what the Brotherhood thinks anyway muah-hahahaha) then nicking their treasure (muah-hahahaha) and getting fireworks shot at us by pixies. Awesome!

Runelords Lineup / Junior Runelords
This week sees a change in Runelords' lineup as we say goodbye to Paul and Di who've been with the group since September 2008.
And in other news: Junior Runelords played through the last adventure in WotC's 'Star Wars Roleplaying Game: The Invasion of Theed' boxed set. Our D20 Star Wars game will now go on hold as Jeremy continues with our game of original D&D next time we meet up.

Senior Runelords
After a bit of a break, taken for a variety of reasons, we returned to our GURPS Alpha Centauri game last Tuesday (March 6th), having previously battled insurgents and experienced internal politics. We have now left our ship, Unity, rather hurriedly in a lifepod and landed on the planet Chiron to face who knows what as the last remnants of the human race.
Junior Runelords Revisited
Taking a break from Star Wars, we started an original Dungeons & Dragons adventure yesterday (March 10th), run by Jeremy. We rolled up characters using Basic D&D rules and have an elf (essentially an elven fighter/magic-user) played by Conor, a human magic-user played by Ryan and a human thief played by me (Sam). With them, we have three hirelings: a dwarf (essentially a dwarven fighter), a human cleric and a human fighter. Our stats are mostly average in comparison to the latest edition of D&D, our hit points are basically pathetic; I, for instance, have 3 hit points. We have just started exploring a pyramid that lies in the middle of a ruined city in the heart of the desert and encountered two-and-a-half-foot-long beetles with glowing red spots on them and a giant lizard, along with a group of strange and masked white-haired and pale-skinned humans. It was fun to return to how it all started and I, for one, look forward to continuing our exploration.

Junior Runelords
Saturday, January 28th saw the first session of what I'm calling Junior Runelords. This first session, with me, Jeremy, Ryan and Adele, was an introduction to the world of roleplaying for Conor, Jeremy's lad. And his first game? D20 Star Wars. And his reaction? Better than Star Wars: The Old Republic, which was pretty flattering for this old GM, I can tell you.
